Steam Packet warns of sailing disruption over next two days

Gale force eight winds with gusts reaching 50mph forecast

The Steam Packet Company is warning of potential disruption to its services over the next two days due to weather conditions.

Tonight's Manxman crossing to Heysham and the return service at 2.15am tomorrow are subject to disruption or cancellation, with a final decision to be made by 6pm.

Tomorrow's Ben-my-Chree services (8.45am to Heysham and 2.15pm to Douglas) could also be impacted, with the Steam Packet making a final call by 7am, while a decision on tomorrow afternoon's Manannan crossing to Liverpool is expected by 1pm tomorrow.

The potential disruption is set to continue overnight tomorrow as the operator warns Tuesday's Manxman trip to Heysham (8.15pm departure) and the return sailing in the early hours of Wednesday morning could also be hit - a final decision on those services will be made by 6pm tomorrow.

This afternoon's Manannan departure Liverpool and the return crossing this evening had already been brought forward to avoid the worst of the conditions.

Winds reaching up to gale force eight are forecast in the Irish Sea over the next 48 hours, with gusts up to 50mph tomorrow and Wednesday.
