Stranded visitors offered travel advice

Cancelled ferry journeys cause chaos for passengers

The Steam Packet says it's trying to help passengers left stranded by ferry service cancellations.

Last night's (Tue) Ben-my-Chree crossings between Douglas and Heysham were called off due to adverse weather on the Lancashire side.

But with the busiest week of the season underway, many of those affected will be unable to sail until Thursday at the earliest.

Talks are underway to arrange an extra sailing to Liverpool that night.

In the meantime, bosses are advising visitors to contact their accommodation providers.

Anyone stuck is asked to visit the Isle of Man Welcome Centre, or call the Tourism Team on 01624 68 68 01.

The Reservations Team can be contacted on 01624 661 661.
