A Douglas man who harassed a police officer 'personally and professionally' has narrowly avoided being sent to prison.
Jason Leo Brown, of Empress Drive, admitted making repeated 999 phone calls accusing the officer of corruption.
The 44-year-old also threatened to kill her horse by feeding him foxglove - a poisonous plant.
At Douglas Courthouse he was sentenced for conduct amounting to harassment and making threats to destroy property.
The court heard that when Brown was arrested, in February, he asked officers from his cell: "What does she sound like when she cries?"
The officer he targeted said she'd had no professional dealings with him and that she was worried, as he knew where she worked and what car she drives.
Brown's advocate told Magistrates the events followed the breakdown of a relationship, and that his client had 'hit the self-destruct button'.
Imposing a six month custodial sentence, which has been suspended for two years, Magistrates also handed him a restraining order.
