Incident part of an ongoing investigation
An officer who tasered a dog has said use of the stun gun was his last option.
Following a call out last friday (13 July), 'PC Schumacher' took to twitter to defend his use of the Taser X2 electrical device, which he deployed on a german shepherd.
The officer's actions left the dog incapacitated, after it was seen to be aggressive around a playground in Wybourne Grove, Onchan.
Duty Inspector Juan Kinley, said the officer's response was appropriate and safe given there were children in the area.
The incident is subject to an ongoing investigation.
The tweet has since been deleted.
