Taxpayer isn't 'paying twice' someone is convicted of benefit fraud

Follows call to Manx Radio's Mannin Line

It's 'more efficient to deduct money from the source' when someone is convicted of benefit fraud.

That's from Treasury's Social Security Director, who appeared on Mannin Line earlier today (15 June).

A question was submitted from a member of the public querying the system which sees benefit cheats repay that money from future benefit payments.

But Victoria McLauchlan insisted the taxpayer isn't 'paying twice' in these scenarios:
