‘Extraordinary Is… On Your Doorstep’ initiative to promote attractions and activities

Efforts are underway to ‘tackle the stigma’ that there is nothing to do on the Isle of Man during the autumn.

Visit Isle of Man is running the ‘On Your Doorstep’ initiative aimed at promoting and celebrating the variety of tourism businesses that operate for both visitors and locals.

It encourages attractions and activity businesses to offer promotional offers during the shoulder season.

They will be marketed by government for eight weeks from 1 October to 30 November.

Visit Isle of Man Chief Executive Deborah Heather said: “Our ‘Extraordinary Is… On Your Doorstep’ initiative is a fantastic opportunity for our industry partners to showcase their offerings to a warm audience, widening leisure opportunities throughout the shoulder season.

“It is also an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to explore and support local businesses, ensuring the sustainability and growth of the Island’s tourism industry.

“As an industry it is essential we work together to create an exceptional visitor experience and I would encourage our attraction and activity businesses to get involved and utilise the marketing and operational benefits this initiative will bring.”

Stuart Clague is a business development executive for Visit Isle of Man:

The scheme has been extended to include accommodation providers and hospitality businesses – sign up will close on 25 September.
