Car wrecked in accident on MER track
A car and tram have been involved in an accident on the MER track outside Onchan.
The two vehicles collided this morning at Groudle Glen, the tram en route for Laxey. No one was hurt but the front end of the car was sliced off.
It's unclear why the car breached the the tram line - investigators and police have been at the scene.
This is the second accident involving MER stock with road traffic in the past two days - yesterday a tram hit a car at Eskdale in the Ramsey area.
The Manx Electric Railway is among the big draws for visitors to the Manx Heritage Transport Festival, which began today (27 July).
