Updated Manx coinage in circulation
Treasury is pleased with the quality and designs of new Manx coinage - launched into circulation this week (10 April).
Residents will see fresh 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins joined by a newly struck £5 coin now in general usage - distributed by the Isle of Man Bank.
Unique to the Isle of Man, each displays Manx motifs created by new contractors, the Tower Mint in London.
The new Manx £1 coin looks much the same as the old UK £1 coin, distinct from the new 12-sided UK version.
Investments and Banking manager Colin Campbell saw the project through it's 15-month process - he says the new partnership is already proving successful:
