Trial for Clapham man who denies GBH

23-year-old accused of injuring man near Villiers Square

A man from London will stand trial after denying unlawfully, and maliciously, inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Finlay Lewis Laing, of Cavendish Place in Clapham, denied assaulting another man during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.

The 23-year-old is accused of punching him near Villiers Square in Douglas on 30 October last year.

The court was told the complainant reportedly suffered a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage as a result of an incident which took place.

Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – will take place on 5 October; he’s been bailed until then.
