Tynwald due to meet earlier following changes made last month

Ronaldsway, CoMin and idling zones up for debate

Tynwald is set to meet this morning earlier than usual.

It follows a number of alterations to the political session which the chamber approved in last month's sitting (May).

The proceedings will get underway from 10.00.

A number of other tweaks to sittings are also coming into force too.  For example each member can submit a 'starred' question each session, and any starred question will take precedence over 'un-starred' questions.

The sitting which gets underway from this morning has no starred questions.

Douglas South MHK Claire Christian gets into her stride with six questions, including whether the Island - as a member of the Common Travel Area - has to install 'C3 scanners' at Ronaldsway.

Those particular scanners were introduced at Heathrow airport earlier this year which allowed airports to scrap the 100ml liquid rule.

Further questions ask when the extract of proceedings for the Council of Minister's March meetings will be published, and clarification around no idling zones.

Arbory Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asks about the Lord Street site, work to the A5 road - north of the Fairy Bridge, and pot hole repairs.

Meanwhile, his constituency colleague Tim Glover asks about a possible review of the procurement process inter alia, while Douglas North member David Ashford questions what consideration has been given to real-time online tracking for the roads open car.

Tynwald will also be asked to make a combined vote on fluoridation of the Island's water supply, after the House of Keys and LegCo failed to come to an agreement.
