Wide-ranging questions in Tynwald

There's a long and wide-ranging question paper in Tynwald tomorrow (Tuesday).

Topics range from the possibility of privatisation of elements within the Health Service, to Pinewood and the Media Development Fund, to livestock losses and proposed financial support for farmers.

Rushen MHK Lawrence Skelly will ask the Treasury Minister to make a statement on the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s claim to collect £1 billion of unpaid taxes from Crown Dependencies; and what he believes the Isle of Man portion to be.

Onchan MHK David Quirk has questions for the Social Care Minister on Onchan Commissioners' plan to cap public sector rent increases and the Landlord Registration Scheme.

And his Onchan colleague Peter Karran will ask the Chief Minister if, in light of the increase in pay day loans, he will bring forward legislation to set a maximum percentage rate for loans whose repayment can be enforced through the Courts.

You can hear full, live coverage of the April sitting of Tynwald on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency, and online at manxradio.com, from 10.30am on Tuesday.
