Woman who launched 'unprovoked assault' ordered to pay compensation

24-year-old also placed under 18-month probation order

A Douglas woman has been ordered to pay £100 compensation to a person she assaulted in a nightclub.

Nicola Rachael Goldstraw, of Heather Crescent, launched the 'unprovoked assault' on another woman, at The Outback in Douglas, on 26 February.

The 24-year-old has also been handed an 18-month probation order, a six-month licensing ban and must pay prosecution costs of £125.

During sentencing High Bailiff Jayne Hughes praised Goldstraw for addressing her mental health issues but added: “You also need to address your difficulties with alcohol.”
