Sarah Webster runs new PB in process
Sarah Webster has produced the performance of her athletics career to date and secured the bronze medal at the World 50k Championships.
She ran a personal best time of 3 hours 20 minutes 5 seconds, less than two minutes behind the winner and exactly one minute behind the silver medallist.
As an added bonus she was part of the gold medal winning Great Britain team in the women's team event.
Sarah wrote afterwards:
"Today I ran another 50k. It just happened to be the world 50k championships in India. Bronze medal, team gold and a PB - I couldn’t be more proud to have my first GB vest and perform well for the team. Massive thanks to David Leach, Northern (Isle of Man) Athletic Club, British Athletics, Isle of Man Sport, Isle of Man Sport Aid, Isle of Man Athletics and my long suffering family and friends for putting up with me!"
