Cycling: Bostock and Walker to contest Tour of Britain

Fellow Manxman Sam Brand competing in USA this weekend

Two of the Isle of Man's elite cycling competitors are set to take part in the prestigious Tour of Britain which gets underway this weekend.

Matthew Bostock will be part of the Bolton Equities Black Spoke squad for the series whilst Max Walker has been named in the Trinity Racing lineup.

The tour, considered by some to be the UK's biggest professional cycling race will run from this Sunday, 3 September, until next Sunday, 10 September.

Tomorrow's opening stage will see the Grand Depart held in Altrincham and Manchester.

Both Bostock and Walker enjoyed medal success on UK soil earlier this summer when both raced for their respective teams at the British National Road Championships in June.

In the elite men's circuit race on 23 June, Bostock claimed silver whilst Walker secured third sport in the Under-23 men's road race two days later (25 June).

Separately this weekend, fellow Manx rider Sam Brand is also in action for Team Novo Nordisk tomorrow (3 September).

He'll be competing in the one-day Maryland Cycling Classic in the USA
