Cycling: Black Spoke team to cease operations

Manxman Matthew Bostock is one of their riders

New Zealand-based pro cycling team Black Spoke has announced it will conclude its activities at the end of the year.

The squad - which includes Isle of Man rider, Matthew Bostock - says it comes after the team was unable to secure the necessary sponsors to continue into 2024.

In a statement, Black Spoke's General Manager Scott Guyton says the team's performances 'have exceeded our wildest dreams', adding 'running this team has been one of the most demanding projects we've ever undertaken'.

Separately, Bostock enjoyed some positive recent performances with the squad including two top-ten finishes in the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia in September and three top-ten spots in the Tour of Taihu Lake in China during the same month.
