Darts: IoM battles hard on WDF World Cup day three

Harrison makes Last-64 in men's singles in Denmark

Team Isle of Man once again battled well amid high competition on day three of the WDF World Cup in Denmark yesterday (27 September).

Wednesday saw the Isle of Man's men's singles players in action with Wayne Harrison, Aaron Bradley, Robbie Nelson and Ady Hogg all involved in Esbjerg.

In the first round it was Bradley and Nelson competing - Bradley went on to suffer a 4-1 loss to Estonia's Alar Raha whilst Nelson was beaten 4-0 at the hands of Haupai Puha of New Zealand.

Elsewhere, Hogg and Harrison began their men's singles campaigns in the Round-of-128 and Harrison put in an impressive display to beat Sylvain Bordeau of Canada 4-2 to progress.

Hogg also faced Canadian opposition in the form of Robbie Mills but it was Canada who came out on top there with Hogg losing out 4-1.

Having made it to the Last-64, Harrison took on Loukas Tripinioti of Cyprus and this was to be the end of the road in the men's singles for Harrison who would suffer a 4-0 defeat.

The WDF World Cup is continuing today and running until Saturday (30 September).
