Football: Rainbow Laces campaign returns this month

Over one million have supported initiative since it began ten years ago

This week sees the return of an Isle of Man and UK-wide football campaign aimed at making the sport safe and inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community.

Now in its tenth year, the Rainbow Laces campaign will take place on Island from this Saturday (25 November) until Sunday, 10 December.

It will see members of Manx clubs invited to wear the multi-coloured laces on their footwear to raise awareness of the campaign and show solidarity.

Launched by UK charity Stonewall in 2013, it aims to support LGBTQ+ incusion in sport, fitness and physical activity with over one-million having helped the cause in the last decade.

The Isle of Man FA (IOMFA) is now encouraging clubs to claim their laces from them - they can also be ordered via the IOMFA website.
