Golf: 2023 IoM Golf Championships get underway

Qualifying held in Ramsey across the weekend

The 2023 Isle of Man Golf Championships got underway in the north of the Island across the weekend (17-18 June).

Qualification has now been decided for the next stage of the event after the opening rounds for the men's competition were held during Saturday and the women's event the following day at Ramsey Golf Club.

The aggregated gross results in the men's competition saw Darryl Callister top the standings (134) with Paul Lowey as runner-up (144) with Robert Noon in overall third (145).

Meanwhile, topping those standings in the women's class was Emma Noon (160) followed by Shirley Price (162) and Lynda Simpson (163) in second and third respectively.

Sixteen players will be involved in the next stage of the men's championship which gets underway tomorrow (20 June).

Eight remain in the women's championship - the next fixtures for that will be held on Thursday (22 June).
