Microgaming IoM Marathon entries open

Half-marathon and relay options also available

Entries are now open for the 2017 Microgaming Isle of Man Marathon and Half-Marathon.

Organised by the Isle of Man Veteran Athletes’ Club, it's taking place, as always, on a course in the north of the Isle of Man, which starts and finishes in Ramsey.

Runners head along Mooragh Promenade and on to Bride, then to Andreas and St Jude’s before turning back towards Ramsey.

Marathon runners complete two laps of the course (26.2 miles in total) while half-marathon competitors complete one lap, with everyone finishing at Ramsey Football Club's Ballacloan Stadium.

This year it takes place on Sunday, 13 August.

New for 2017 is the four-leg relay race, in which teams of four runners will run the full marathon distance between them, covering just over 6.5 miles each.

Organisers say this is designed to encourage new runners to take part in the race.

In 2016, a record 448 people crossed the finish line, with 101 entries recorded for the full distance and 347 for the half.

To enter, visit isleofmanmarathon.com.

Entry fees are £25 for affiliated members, £30 for non-affiliated members, and £100 per team to enter the relay.
