Record numbers for Altenar Ramsey Marathon & Half

Drivers asked to be aware of runners during race hours

The countdown is on for those ready and raring to go in this year's Isle of Man Altenar Marathon and Half-Marathon.

It's a record year for entries, with 90 competing in the full marathon and 383 in the half, many of whom are coming from across.

Mo Kelly says both races are wide open for the taking:

The action gets underway in Ramsey this Sunday (13 Aug) with the marathon starting at 8:30 and the half getting underway at 9.

Runners will start on Ramsey Promenade and heads towards the old Grand Island site.

From there, the route follows the road to Bride and then to Andreas to St Judes before heading back to Ramsey.

One lap for the half-marathon runners and two laps for the marathoners.

Drivers are being asked to be aware of 473 runners on the road on Sunday.

And those races are also the first in a series of 6 races in 6 days, known as the 'No Rest For The Wicked' competition.

You can find out more on both events here.
