Shooting: Cross leads the way in latest sporting league round

Competitors navigate tough layouts at Meary Veg

The second round of the Dave and Pam Corlett Pro sporting league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part over two very difficult layouts but in near ideal conditions.

The leader after the first layout was Michael Cross with 20 points who was the only shooter to break into the twenties, in second place on 19 were B class shooters Brian Faragher and Stan Cross followed by C class shooter Mark Corrin on 16.

The second layout which was slightly easier than the first saw Jeanie Robertson finish in third place in C class with 25 points with Calum Craine in second place on 26 but winning C class with a score of 32 was Mark Corrin. 

In B class good friends Brian Kelly and Mark Sweetman tied for third place on 29 and we had another tie for first place between Brian Faragher and Stan Cross with 38 points. 

In A Class Rob Corlett was in third place on 32 with Peter Kelly taking second place on 33 but taking A class with another score in the twenties on his second round was Michael Cross with 41 points.

A Class - 1st M Cross 20,21=41
               2nd P Kelly 15,18=33
               3rd R Corlett 15,17=32
 

B Class - =1st S Cross 19,19, B Faragher 19,19=38
              =3rd B Kelly 14,15,M Sweetman 13,16=29

C Class - 1st M Corrin 16,16=32
              2nd C Craine 14,14=28
              3rd J Robertson Ldy  13,12=25.
 

 

Next week is the third round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English skeet league.
