SHOOTING: Shooting star Sammer smashes A Class and Highgun

Kelly and Walker tie for first place in B Class

The first round of the Utopia Hair Salon Winter Series English Skeet was held at Meary Veg Santon in dull but calm conditions.

The leader after the first round was Roman Sammer with a perfect 25 straight, in second place on 24 was Giulio Fabrizio with Paul Mihailovits in third place on 23. 

The leading B class shooters at this stage was Peter Kelly on 22, the leading C class shooter was Ted Kermeen on 21.

After a short break the second round got underway and at the end in C class in third place was Irene Stockil on 39 with Ted Kermeen coming in second with 43 points, and taking C class with 48 points was Giulio Fabrizio. 

There was a two-way tie for third place in B class between Dave Corlett and Mark Hepworth on 43 points, there was also a tie for first place in B between Mike Walker and Peter Kelly with 44 points each. 

In A class, third place went to John Moore with 47 points, John hitting a straight in his second round, in second place on 48 was Paul Mihailovits who also hit a straight in his second round, but the star of the show was Roman Sammer who has only been shooting for about two years took first place in A and also highgun on the day with 49 points.

A Class 

1st R Sammer 25,24=49, 2nd P Mihailovits 23,25=48, 3rd J Moore 22,25=47.

B Class 

1st =1st M Walker 21,23, P Kelly 22,22=44, =3rd M Hepworth, D Corlett 21,22=43

C Class 

1st G Fabrizio 24,24=48,2nd T Kermeen 21,22=43,3rd I Stockil 20,19=39.
