Vikings A suffer first defeat in 12 years

Vikings A 1-2 Bacchas A

A goal in each half moved Bacchas A up to third place in the PwC Women's Premier League and condemned opponents Vikings A to their first defeat in more than 12 years.

Sam Hassall netted the winner with a sensational drag flick from a penalty corner after Lucy Kinrade had given the Cronkbourne side a slender half-time advantage.

Captain Kim Carney struck for Vikings, who drop to fourth after a difficult few weeks on and off the pitch.

Manx Radio's hockey correspondent Sam Spooner was full of praise for the remarkable unbeaten record, which spanned more than a hundred games:
