Cav and Carolynn take top awards

Tour de France star Mark Cavendish and Manx Grand Prix winner Carolynn Sells were crowned Isle of Man Sportsman and Sportswoman for 2009, at the Villa Marina last night.
Cavendish won six stages at Le Tour, including the famous last one into Paris, and is now the most successful British cyclist of all-time.
Sells is the first woman to win a race around the Mountain Course, at either the TT or the Manx Grand Prix.

There was a special achievement on the Isle of Man award for the fastest woman in Parish Walk history, Janice Quirk, and the Isle of Man ambassador prize went to Ramsey road racer Conor Cummins.
The other awards were: under-21 sportsman, swimmer Grant Halsall; under-21 sportswoman, swimmer Olivia Rawlinson; disability sportsperson, Special Olympics gold medal snowshoe racer Paul Clucas; club official, Peter Kinnish; coach, Peter Mumford; and the team prize went to Vagabonds women's rugby.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Ron Ronan for his involvement in Athletics, Football and Tennis.
