On Air The Folk Show John Barker | 9:00pm - 10:00pm

Speed Date!

We begin today's show with the first living Manx Bard! Poetry performer Stacey Astill recently represented the Isle of Man in The Shoreline Voices at Insight festival in Scotland.

To find out more, go to the Manx Bard Facebook page.

Next up, is some speed dating with a twist - the DED have been hosting a range of events over the last couple of years, with a very popluar re-curring event being the creative speed-networking meetups which take place at Noa Bakehouse. Events vary from talks to interactive workshops and take place every few months with a different focus each time.

More information about the DED's Creative Industries events can be found on Facebook.

On Thursday evening, head down to the Manx Museum for a talk by the BBC’s go-to building renovation expert, Marianne Suhr, for her ideas and advice on restoring old buildings and making them more energy-efficient. The talk is part of the Isle of Architecture's Symposium for the Creative Reuse of Historic Buildings at the end of this week.
