#MRWomenToday: an emotional journey to remember Manx soldiers in Belgium

On the programme today: as we head towards the month of remembrance we found out about a recent visit two local community groups made to a world war one cemetery in Belgium;

- we were joined in the studio by PC Mike Griffiths, the driving force behind the Island’s Police Youth Scheme, along with Alex and Megan, two of the 15 cadets that Mike accompanied on a trip to Ypres in August where they were Honour Guard at the Menin Gate, and visited the graves of local soldiers lost in the war; it was a trip they described as "humbling, eye-opening, educational and above all emotional". You can find out more at an open evening they are holding at the Douglas Yacht Club on Thursday evening (details on the poster here)

- we were also joined by leader of the Isle of Man’s WI choir Karen Elliot; the group also made the journey to Belgium earlier this month and were honoured to sing at various locations in the area, not least performing a powerful rendition of Ellan Vannin at the Menin Gate last post ceremony; you can watch their extremely moving performance at the Gate on YouTube here and you can find out more about the WI by calling Karen directly on 843260;

- we also asked you whether you think we should follow in the footsteps of Honolulu and fine pedestrians for looking at their phones while crossing the road, and we looked at the results of the BBC survey which reveal shocking numbers of both men and women saying they have been sexually harassed in the workplace.

If you missed the programme, you can listen back for the next 7 days at this link. Tomorrow we'll be finding out about the latest workshops at The Hub and hearing about Hop Tu Naa at Cregneash. Join us at 2pm!
