#MRWomenToday listen again: an adventure across the Atlantic...

On the programme today: -

Fionahh2- we were joined in the studio by the adventurous Fiona Hill Heaton, who wowed us with her tales from the Atlantic ocean - which she crossed with her partner Terry in a 38ft vessel 'Sisu' (see the pictures below). You can check out their fascinating blog here and we also recorded a podcast with Fiona after the show, in which she talked about encounters with 30ft whales, flaming comets, and playing the bagpipes out at sea.... the audio will be available to listen to on our Podcast page  later this evening;

- also out on the water, we spoke to Warrior Games Team Captain Mike Ryan and Steve Marsh (who you may recall from Manx Workshop for the Disabled) about Heroes On The Water, who were out with a number of veterans this weekend for a sea kayaking expedition;

- we talked about news that we can in fact take dementia into our hands, by looking after our brain health;

- and we wrapped up the controversial conversation about BBC salaries, as news hit today that some of the high earning males in the organisation may have to take a cut in pay.

If you missed the show, you can listen again for the next 7 days at this link. Tomorrow, we have a special Conister Rocks programme with our own Ed Oldham from Manx Radio news, on his last day with the station before he embarks on a global adventure. Tune in from 2pm!
