#MRWomenToday Listen Again: Conister Rock, Angie Aire MBE

On Friday's Women Today, Beth was joined on the Conister Rock by one of the Isle of Man’s newest MBEs.

Angie Aire received it in the New Year's Honours List for services to breast cancer charities and the wider community.

She is the chair of Breast Cancer Now, Isle of Man and over the years has helped raise nearly £2,000,000 for breast cancer research, but Angie has always been very adamant that anything she has achieved in her charity work is very much a team effort.  As Beth suggested in the programme, she is very modest.

Angie took us back to a childhood on the farm in Ballabeg, told of her daredevil fundraising events, what it takes to finish the Parish Walk seven times - even if you're only expecting to get to Peel and talked about what it was like for her and her family when she was treated for breast cancer 16 years ago.

Her music choices ranged from Neil Diamond to Adele, with a bit of Hot Chocolate thrown in for good measure.
