#MRWomenToday listen again: International Women's Day special

Today was our annual celebration of all things Woman*!

Stacey Astill started the programme with a fabulous poem about the #MeToo campaign; Grainne Sheard and Jade-Nicole Patterson talked about why they founded Women of Mann and what feminism means to them; we heard from Jax Keenan about her visit to the extra-ordinary 'women only' village of Umoja in Kenya; and Jenny James from Reap What You Sew told us all about the wonderful work of the Days for Girls charity, and her own adventures distributing feminine hygiene kits to remote communities in Nepal and Cambodia.

We heard about the fabulous 'Press For Progress' event happening tonight at the Henry Bloom Noble library, and about the big ole party that Women of Mann are having on Saturday, that you can attend - and where you can bid to win yourself the wonderful Frida Kahlo doll that Grainne was up all night crocheting, from scratch!

Also, each of us shared the name of someone we wanted to champion or celebrate for the day, and we talked about the news from Spain that women are going on strike today to highlight sexual harassment.

If you missed any part of today's programme, you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days. And you can listen to the full length interview with Jenny about Days for Girls on our podcast page here.

*and yes, there will be a celebration for International Men's Day in November, too!
