#MRWomenToday listen again: James Franklin, Culture Vannin

On the programme today, Kirree and Christy were joined by James Franklin, Online and Educational Resources Officer from Culture Vannin, who came to tell us all about the release of a wonderful new short film documenting the comings and goings at Caley's Store in Sulby. You can watch the film its entirety on this page.

James also told us about ongoing and upcoming projects that the organisation is working on to help celebrate, promote and preserve Manx culture and he also mentioned that the deadline is fast approaching for their grant applications; you can find out more about the grants and the application process by visiting their website here.

Also today, we heard from Brian Brumby, the President of the Manx Farmer's Union, about the first appointment of a woman in the role of President of the National Farmer's Union; we talked about what that meant for women in the industry and Kirree, a personality in the local farming community herself, revealed her fabulous new appointment as one of the #NextGen Ambassadors for the National Sheep Association - the first ever Ambassador from the Isle of Man.

And we asked if you get disgruntled by noisy gig goers, as backlash continues to bubble up over last week's performance by solo acoustic act Jake Bugg, which was marred by a somewhat over enthusiastic crowd...

If you missed any part of today's programme, you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days

Tomorrow we’ll be joined by a woman who’s social media expertise has led her to create an exciting new initiative for Women In all areas of Business on the Island, and we’ll also be meeting the person behind the Cook Shack who is making great use of the Time Bank to help her put on a festival for those with additional needs either mental or physical and their families.
