#MRWomenToday listen again: the independent prison board; #30DaysWild; Jeff Brazier

On the programme today: -

prison2- we were joined by Aileen Gelling and Alan Fergusson from The Independent Monitoring Board at the Isle of Man Prison.

They are a group of members of the public – men and women of all ages and from various backgrounds, whose role is to monitor the day-to-day life of the prison, the courts custody suite at police headquarters and the transport of detainees to and from these establishments and sometimes elsewhere.

As Aileen is soon to retire, they are looking for new members; if you think you have what it takes and would like to apply, you can find an application pack and more information on the IOM Government website; or you can contact Karl Cubbon in the Dept of Home Affairs on 694306 or email karl.cubbon@dha.gov.im

...also today, Howard went wild with puffins again on day 14 of the #30DaysWild challenge;

...also, it's Father’s Day on Sunday; and as research commissioned by Nationwide shows that over half of dads today say they take on more responsibility than their own fathers, but 84% are still finding it difficult to balance work and family life, we spoke to TV presenter Jeff Brazier to find out what he thinks are the challenges and benefits to being a modern-day dad…

You can find details about Jeff's new book, 'The Grief Survival Guide' here - tune in on Friday to hear thoughts from our listeners on what they feel it means to be a dad in 2017

If you missed the show you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days.

Tomorrow, we are joined by Anne Hodgson to talk to us about the wonderful work The Walton Centre do and the people who are supporting it with the Parish Walk on Saturday, and we'll be finding out how you can get involved in Crown Green Bowling and Lawn Tennis. Tune in from 2pm!
