People and Places - Kerroogarroo: A Civil War era fort in the Isle of Man
Almost invisible in a field near in the north of the Isle of Man lies the remnants of a 17th Century fort.
Built in the lead up to the Civil War by Sir John Stanley, Earl of Derby and Lord of Mann, very few records exist of the construction, but there are some fascinating details which we can bring out from a study of the site.
Charles Guard guides us through some of the history, architecture and unique details of this remnant of our shared history of over 350 years ago.
