Tynwald Day 2017 - The Grand Manx Dance: Hunt the Wren

Published on 13 Jul 2017

Tynwald Day 2017 included a Grand Manx Dance, which combined the dancers from a number of different traditional Manx dance groups from across the Isle of Man.

Here Perree Bane and Skeddan Jiarg perform Hunt the Wren / Shelg yn Drean.

Traditionally performed on the morning of St. Stephen's Day (26 December) around the wren pole, this dance is one of the most performed and well known of all Manx dances.
