Position:           Financial Controller
Reporting:        Managing Director

Liaison with:     Department Heads, Executive & Non-Executive Board, External Auditors

Job Location:   Broadcasting House - Isle of Man.

Full time role – 35 hours per week.

Purpose of the Role

To record, process and report Radio Manx Limited’s financial data in an accurate and timely manner. These responsibilities include all bookkeeping and accounting practices, and the provision of Management Information and financial advice to the company Board of Executive and Non-Executive Directors. The department is responsible for the maintenance of financial controls within the company and is also the key liaison with external auditors and bankers.

You will need to be able to work independently, manage your own time and tasks and produce meticulous records across all aspects of the company’s financial transactions. You’ll be comfortable under pressure and able to produce accurate work at all times.

Core Responsibilities

All finance and accounting operations, including day to day entries and control of the books of account and statutory returns. Preparation of budget and financial forecast and report variances.  Preparing timely financial statements.  

Duties / Roles:

  • All bookkeeping operations: sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash book, general ledger, fixed asset register, invoicing, deposits, collections.
  • All management accounting operations
  • Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly management reports
  • Support Management team with financial queries, providing guidance where necessary
  • Preparation and submission of Quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparation and submission of Quarterly PRS/PPL (music license royalties) returns
  • Review payroll submissions/act as cover for HR Manager with payroll preparation
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Review, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Liaison with the board, audit committee, company external auditors and bankers
  • Additional controller duties as necessary
