One hundred years ago, Rayner Hoff was in France, serving in the British Army in the Great War. Manx-born, Hoff is best known for his moving sculptures on the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park, Sydney, Australia, but little is known about his formative years in the United Kingdom.
Deborah Beck, author of, Rayner Hoff – The Life of a Sculptor, will explore his eventful life in the UK, his meteoric rise as a prominent star of the art world in Sydney and explain why this talented sculptor left the UK to move to Australia in 1923.
There will also be an opportunity to have your book signed by Deborah on the evening. A limited stock of books will be available from our shop.
