Both finish above initial rankings in Sutton Park

Manx triathletes, Niall Caley and Will Draper, produced two strong performances to finish far above their initial rankings in the 2022 Commonwealth Games triathlon event today (29 July).

Both battled it out across running, cycling and swimming through the demanding challenge of Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield.

Caley went on to finish 20th in the overall standings whilst Draper followed not far behind in 24th.

Going into the event, both had been ranked 34th and 48th in the standings respectively.

Caley finished in a total time of exactly 54 minutes - only three minutes 26 seconds off eventual winner, Alex Yee of England.

Draper meanwhile finished less than two minutes behind his fellow Manx competitor in a total time of 55 minutes 57 seconds.
