CWG: Donnelly produces strong showing in Gymnastics All Around Final

Manx gymnast improved scores in every discipline on the big stage

Tara Donnelly posted improved scores in every class of the Gymnastics All Round Final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games to finish 13th in the event today (31 July).

The Manx gymnast started well in her first two disciplines - firstly scoring 11.100 in the uneven bars, bettering the score of 11.050 she set yesterday (30 July).

The upward curve continued on the beam with a score of 11.850, eclipsing her previous score in the qualification stage of 10.100.

The 2021 IoM Sportswoman of the Year kept upping her level in the third discipline with her floor routine, posting 11.300 after her result in the qualification phase came in at 11.160.

Her session was then rounded off with the tricky challenge of the vault but Donnelly delivered in style with a big score of 12.800.

It means Tara's overall score for the final came to 47.050, up from 43.700 on Saturday.
