CWG: Leon Mazzone replaces Max Walker for time trial

Change comes after Walker withdraws from event

Manx cyclist Leon Mazzone will join Tyler Hannay in representing the Isle of Man in the men's time trial event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games this week.

Mazzone - who was already one of Team IoM's reserves - replaces Max Walker who has had to withdraw from the competition.

Team IoM says Leon is as well prepared as any other member of the team and 'it is testament to the strength in depth of our cycling team that we can call on someone of Leon's calibre to represent the Isle of Man'.

The Island will also have a three-strong team in the women's time trial of Jess Carridge, Lizzie Holden and Becky Storrie.

The time trial event is set to take place at West Park in Wolverhampton on Thursday, 4 August between 10am and 4pm.
