Returning students to get both Covid vaccines during summer

Aims to get students fully protected before return to university

Returning students will be offered both Covid-19 vaccine doses during the summer break.

Government say both jabs will be done eight weeks apart to make sure students are fully vaccinated before they return to university for the next academic year.

As a result, student vaccination clinics will be held on 26 June, 6 & 7 July at the Chester Street hub for first doses whilst 30 & 31 August and 1 September have been earmarked for second appointments.

The Moderna vaccine will be used during these clinics.

Anyone looking to receive a vaccine needs to be registered with an Island GP and should call the vaccination booking team on 111 to inform them they're a returning student.

If any student is registered with a UK practice, they will need to temporarily sign up to a local GP.
