Former CM says pre-election meetings could have been better arranged

Donald Gelling believes new approach hadn't worked

The organisation of public meetings held before this year's General Election has been criticised by a former chief minister.

The Cabinet Office organised the events which were previously called by captains of the parishes.

Donald Gelling was chief minister from 1996 to 2001 and then again from 2004 to 2006.

He told Manx Radio the new approach hadn't worked:
