Michelle Haywood has been local authority chair since 2016
A commissioner in the south of the Island has declared her intention to stand in Rushen in the general election.
Michelle Haywood has served as chair of the Port St Mary local authority since 2016.
She says her vision for the future 'is one that is sustainable, equitable and progressive'.
It means she won't be standing for re-election as a commissioner.
Ms Haywood says she hopes to use her 'passion' and 'ability' to serve the people of Rushen at a national level.
The Isle of Man General Election takes place on 23 September.
