David Cretney to stand down as MLP chair

Peter Washington or Joney Faragher to be new leader

The Manx Labour Party is going to appoint a new chair this week.

Following his retirement from parliament earlier this year, Tynwald veteran David Cretney will also stand down from leadership of the party he's represented for a series of elections in both the House of Keys and then Legislative Council.

Mr Cretney says he's pleased with the two candidates standing to replace him as leader:

Either Sarah Maltby or Carol Quine will be made chair.

Both decisions will be made at an annual general meeting, to be held at the South Douglas Old Friends Club, on Finch Road in Douglas, from 10am.

The party says only members can speak and vote.
