Advocate welcomes secrecy ranking
An advocate and author says it's unsurprising the Island has moved down a list of countries facilitating tax evasion.
Campaign group Tax Justice Network ranked the Isle of Man 42nd in its 2018 Financial Secrecy Index, released earlier this week.
A fall of ten places from three years ago puts the nation behind the United Kingdom, Jersey and Guernsey.
The Paradise Papers leaks prompted pressure from British MPs to overhaul Manx tax laws last year.
But Paul Beckett believes a new Beneficial Ownership Registry, and signing up to numerous international co-operation agreements, has improved our reputation.
