Police's domestic abuse scheme with Tesco starts today

Reports to officers rises by 145% compared to last year

A new scheme to help people in domestic abuse situations has started today, through the police working with Tesco.

It comes as reports of domestic disputes have risen by 145 per cent on the Island, compared to the same time last year.

From today people can approach staff members in the Douglas store, who can speak to them confidentially, and steer them to support services.
