Late Lunch listen again: Charles Guard and Julie Matthews

We were joined in the studio today by Charles Guard, who stopped by to tell us about various National Week themed items. Firstly, he shared some wonderful memories from 1979 the Manx Millennium, 40 years on. You can hear his special hour long programme remembering the event on Tynwald Day just after 6pm right here on Manx Radio.

He also brought in a stunning set of stamps released by Isle of Man Post Office Stamps and Coins this week, featuring beautiful artwork by Peter Davies and a booklet packed with hair-raising tales of Rebellion. Find out more here.

We also gave away a set of the gorgeous Mary Cousins Manx Greetings prepaid postcards to one lucky listener, ahead of them being available to pick up and post on the Tynwald Fairfield tomorrow;

We celebrated Manx National Week by asking you what your favourite thing about the Isle of Man is;

And Beth and Christy revealed how they got on with this week's Moghrey Jedoonee Challenge, singing the Manx National Anthem, in Manx! They had a little help and guidance from Julie Matthews, Headteacher at Bunschoill Ghaelgagh..

Our Soul Starter today came from birthday boy Bill Withers, 81 today, with the wonderfully apt 'Lovely Day'; and the Juke Box was a sure winner for the Beach Boys who released 'I Get Around' on this day in 1964.

If you missed any part of today's programme, you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days.
