AN IMPORTANT INVITATION FROM CAFE LINGO :

Cafe Lingo  will be celebrating Christmas with an informal, friendly meal on Christmas Eve.

 We understand that there are some foreign people on the Island who feel very isolated at Christmas, living so far away from their extended families, so this year we decided to host an informal, friendly 'Meet and Eat' celebration on Christmas Eve. It will be open to Cafe Lingo students, volunteers, supporters and other foreign people within the Manx Community. Each person will pay for their own food and drink.

It will be held at PAPARAZZI next door to THE PROM CHURCH  starting at 5.30 p.m.. The restaurant will be closing at 8.00 p.m.

THE PROM CHURCH has a Christmas Eve Communion Service at 8pm and anyone who has been at the Paparazzi meal will be most welcome to come next door and share in the service, if they wish.

Sun 23rd December:   A time of stillness;  you’d be very welcome at Dalby Church where they are having a candlelit reflective Taize service with a Celtic Communion starting at 6.30pm;  this is for a time of stillness and peace as we approach Christmas Eve.

Come journey with the people of Dalby to Bethlehem on Christmas Eve, as they meet with the land-lord of the Inn, some shepherds, a few kings and many angels who will share with them their very special story of an unforgettable night many years ago.  A simple candle-lit gathering at St James’s for any passing angels or shepherds, young children and the young at heart, with carols and an acted story ;everyone is always welcome. ( lasts about 45 min)

 

 

Midnight Candlelit Communion on Christmas Eve : 11.30pm, 

You’d be very welcome  at Dalby for a special Candle lit communion as they come together on Christmas Eve to celebrate the gift of Light coming into our world. The service will be led by Cheryl Cousins with Canon Kelly officiating at the shared  communion.

On the 4th Sunday of every month, St Peter’s welcome you to a service of Choral Evensong, using the Book of Common Prayer.  St Peter’s Church Choir will lead the music - the service is usually led by Reader Carole Bairstow, and this peaceful, prayerful time of worship particularly appeals to those who enjoy the language of the Book of Common Prayer combined with beautiful uplifting music
