For the Fallen

This week, Cathy Fargher has updates on the schedule for Ramsey’s Northern Theatre Experience, we find out more about 'For the Fallen', a new, original production to commemorate the Isle of Man's involvement in World War One, and Artist Sally Black celebrates a fantastic achievement!

If you’d like to come on the show and share something creative with us, drop me a line at Spotlight@manxradio.com and don’t forget you can listen again to the show as a podcast or on demand manxradio.com where you’ll also find the Spotlight blog full of links and further information about each of our guests today.

We begin the show at the Northern Theatre Experience at Ramsey Grammar School which we covered last year just as the live theatre screening were starting out. Since then, The Northern Theatre Experience has gone from strength to strength and coordinator Cathy Fargher joins us on the programme now to tell us how things are going and what’s coming up, up North! More information about live screening events and tickets are available on Facebook.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, director John Young will be staging an original production, 'For the Fallen', specially commissioned Isle of Man Arts Council, to focus on the Island's involvement in the conflict. John grew up on the Isle of Man but now works in the UK as a professional Director, working on a number of exciting projects.

And we speak to another local creative of many talents - artist Sally Black has worked in a range of creative fields and having recently won an award for her artistic involvement in the film Mindhorn, she’s now enjoying getting back to her painting.

Thank you for joining me this evening, I’ll be back next Wednesday at 5:30 and in the meantime you can listen again at manxradio.com or download the Spotlight podcast at manxradio.com - have a lovely, creative week!
