Lemon of Dawn

On Spotlight this week, dancer Beth Brown tells us about the new dance troupe she’s formed and Composer David Mapp gives us a fascinating lesson in Experimental Music!

If you’d like to come on the show and share something creative with us, drop me a line at Spotlight@manxradio.com and don’t forget you can listen again to the show on iTunes where it’s available as a podcast and on demand at manxradio.com

We begin today’s show with dancer Beth Brown who, at only 20 years old has put together a dance troupe, inspired by a competition in London! The troupe are hoping to travel to London to compete in the Move It! And Capezio Dance Championships in London this spring and are putting on a show to give you a preview of their entry pieces:

David Mapp is our next guest today. A Sourdough baker at Noa Bakehouse, David is also trained as a composer and has recently completed a rather unusual piece!

We played a couple of David’s tracks too, the first was Lemon of Dawn by David and Emma Mapp and then we had two tracks from David’s former band Seazures - album available to download for free on Bandcamp! For more information on David's current project, The Philoctetes Suites, email us at Spotlight@manxradio.com and we'll put you in touch!

Spotlight will be back next Wednesday at 5:30pm but in the meantime you can listen again at manxradio.com or download the Spotlight podcast on iTunes. Have a lovely, creative week!
