Yola & Zohra

This Week's programme, Sandy Koh of the Sovereign Art Foundation joins us to discuss this unique opportunity for students and we have part two of our chat with Yola Carter.

Do contact the show if you’d like to share any creative happenings with us, you can email me at Spotlight@manxradio.com or you can message the Manx Radio Facebook page.

Sandy Koh of the Sovereign Art Foundation joins us first this afternoon to remind of this fantastic opportunity for students of the Islands high schools and of University College Isle of Man.

You may only have ten days to apply but be brave, speak to your teachers and put yourself in the running, you never know what might happen!

And now we have part two of our interview with the incredible Yola Carter who visited the Island for Cyclefest back in April. We talked some real talked over afternoon tea for almost half an hour making this piece really difficult to edit down cos this woman speaks so much wisdom I want to share it all! We hear 'What You Do'.

And we finish on a beautiful piece of news from Afghanistan Zohra the first ever female orchestra has recently been established. Conductor Zafira Adiba leads the group of women who are the first females in their families to learn music in thirty years after it was banned by the Taliban.

Join me again next Wednesday at half past five and in the meantime you can listen again and get in touch through the Manx Radio website. Have a lovely creative week!
