#MRWomenToday listen again: live from Beach Buddies 10K Party

A slightly different programme today, as we were part of today's live broadcast this afternoon from Niarbyl, with local hero Bill Dale, celebrating Beach Buddies 10K Day - marking the (more than) 10,000 volunteers signed up to the Island beach clean initiative.

Beth and Christy caught up with Chris and Lydia from Life Less Plastic and Keirron from Adventurous Experiences, had a lovely chat with His Excellency the Governor Sir Richard Gosney about how environmentally friendly Government House is, and quizzed both Ray Harmer MHK and the Chief Minister Howard Quayle about Government policy and plastic reduction and the environment. They also caught up with a number of inspiring young people and school children to find out what they're doing in the schools and homes to make a difference and found out why the Energy From Waste Plant is a useful tool in the battle against waste.

During the 5 hour broadcast, Bill also announced exciting plans for a new annual event - an Environment Festival that will take place in Peel in 2019. Follow the FIM Capital sponsored Beach Buddies page and website for all the details.

If you missed any part of the programme you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days. In the meantime, you can check out some of the photos from today's event below, and on our Manx Radio Facebook Page
